Make a difference by donating food, clothing, or other essential items for our neighbors in need!

Community Closet donations: Last Tuesday of each month, 1-3pm at Open Doors’ Smilow Life Center, side entrance on Merritt Place, Norwalk, CT 06854.

Open Doors’ community closet is a resource that provides quality wardrobes and household essentials for people dealing with poverty here in our community. Please respect the dignity of our clients and donate only items you would be proud to give to a friend or family member.

Food donations: Grocery pantry donations, Monday through Friday, 9:30am-noon. Bring nonperishable items or fresh fruits and vegetables to our new grocery pantry at Open Doors’ Smilow Life Center, side entrance on Merritt Place, Norwalk, CT 06854 or coordinate with us for a weekend delivery or a large donation.

Please reach out to us if you’d like to sponsor a prepared meal! Open Doors serves hot meals every day of the week to anyone who needs help with food.

Book donations: Open Doors has a neighborhood book-sharing box at the front of our Smilow Life Center. Books in good condition for all ages and reading levels are appreciated, particularly those written in Spanish or Haitian Creole. You can refill the book-sharing box at Open Doors’ Smilow Life Center, 55 Chestnut Street, Norwalk, CT 06854 (near the sidewalk, close to the Norwalk Community Health Center entrance) any time.

December 11, Wilton Holiday Hustle – Run for a reason and support Open Doors at this student-led 5K!

Feeding 500 student volunteers are organizing the first ever Wilton Holiday Hustle on December 11 at the Comstock Community Center.  Register or become a sponsor to make a difference!

Now through December 16, Blankets for Bourbon 2022 – Our neighbors at Beverage King in Norwalk are working with us on an incredible virtual donation drive!  This year, Blankets for Bourbon has both an Amazon wishlist of winter needs and a financial donation drive.
