Norwalk’s Open Doors social services nonprofit marks 40 years of helping the community

Open Doors, a local social service nonprofit organization that runs the city’s homeless shelter, celebrated its 40th anniversary Wednesday.

“Since its incorporation as the Norwalk Emergency Shelter in 1984, Open Doors has evolved to provide holistic supportive services and homelessness prevention resources to help thousands of residents in the greater Norwalk area achieve financial stability and success,” a statement from the organization said.
