Open Door Shelter enjoyed a visit from Housing Commissioner Evonne Klein, Senator Bob Duff, State Representative Chris Perone and Norwalk Mayor Harry Rilling to discuss the development of 2 Merritt Place. The currently empty factory will be transformed into housing units, a medical center and job training center. The transformation of the building is part of the shelter’s strategic efforts to deepen services provided to the community.The SoNo Life Center will be a community center of resources, discussion, training, healthcare, and supportive housing. The shelter hopes that the building will bring new opportunities to the South Norwalk community.
