State Legislators Talk SoNo Life Center

Open Door Shelter enjoyed a visit from Housing Commission​er Evonne Klein, Senator Bob Duff​, State Representative Chris Perone​ and Norwalk Mayor Harry Rilling​ to discuss the development of 2 Merritt Place. The currently empty factory will be transformed into housing units, a medical center and job training center. The transformation of the building is part of the shelter’s strategic efforts to deepen services provided to the community.The SoNo Life Center will be a community center of resources, discussion, training, healthcare, and supportive housing. The shelter hopes that the building will bring new opportunities to the South Norwalk community.
